The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) has entrusted 4Science with the upgrade and enhancements of the OJS platform for the Annals of Geophysics.
The new version is already online in production here: http://www.annalsofgeophysics.eu/index.php/annals
Besides the update, we took the opportunity to work on some enhancements:
- An extension of the OpenAIRE compliancy plugin for OJS has been developed to allow authors and editorial members of the Journal to include information about funded projects in the article metadata. Besides the grants already managed by the original OJS plugin, this extension allows to collect the project title and the funder name and call also using the OpenAIRE Project API. The improved plugin is available on our GitHub repository: https://github.com/4Science/ojs/tree/master/plugins/generic/openAIRE
- An extension of the official OJS plugin has been developed to allow the search of coauthors in the ORCiD registry, to get valid identifiers. Moreover, the plugin invites by email coauthors not associated with an ORCiD, to login with their ORCiD or to create a new one. This improvement is also available on GitHub: https://github.com/4Science/orcidProfile/tree/ojs-dev-2_4
The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) is the largest European body dealing with research in Geophysics and Volcanology. Its main mission is the monitoring of geophysical phenomena in both the solid and fluid components of the Earth. INGV is devoted to 24-hour countrywide seismic surveillance, real-time volcanic monitoring, early warning and forecast activities. INGV operates in close coordination with different Italian governmental bodies, including the Ministry of University and Research, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the frame of large research programs of national and international relevance.
Annals of Geophysics is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access, online journal, with impact factor and a high reputation in the scientific community.
