The digital repository of the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute is now online (https://www.tesoridisaggezza.org/).
The Institute is one of the most important centers in Europe for Buddhist study and practice. Since the establishment, in 1976, it has attracted people of all ages and from around the world, interested in deepening their understanding of the teaching of Buddha and of their own inner nature, through the intense study of Buddhist philosophy and psychology. Outstanding Masters, like His Holiness Dalai Lama, have been and are teaching there. Furthermore it boasts highly qualified masters coming from monastic Tibetan universities that are durably residing there since 1980.
Over time, as part of its activities, the Institute produced and collected an important cultural heritage, partly digital, and chose DSpace-GLAM for its management, dissemination, and preservation. Thanks to the flexible data model provided by the system, it was possible to enhance access and use of digital resources and highlight their relationships with Masters and Events.
In the coming months, the repository will be further enriched through an e-commerce module integrated with DSpace-GLAM, allowing the Institute to sustain its activities by distributing part of its digital heritage also for a fee.
